Challenge

Abbvie approached us looking to create an exciting, immersive experience that they could take to congress' and trade shows that would help them promote their new migraine drug. The goal was to raise awareness of the impact of chronic migraines in a way that made the knowledge stick and allow the team to explain the benefits of BOTOX as an effective Chronic Migraine treatment.

Solution

We worked with Abbvie and their content agency Emotive to create a game that involved users completing a series of puzzles. These puzzles represented tasks that a person might complete during their day as they suffer with a migraine. As symptoms become more severe, tasks begin to pile up, simulating how chronic migraines can often feel overwhelming. The increasing difficulty also mirrors how a migraine can make it harder to think clearly and manage tasks in your day. A flowing narrative ties together the gamified disruptions, mimicking the real-world unpredictability and frustration of chronic migraines. By making seemingly simple tasks challenging, and in some cases, impossible, the experience will deepen the delegates’ understanding of chronic migraines and showcase the benefits of BOTOX. The game was then loaded onto a large touchscreen that could be displayed at the Abbvie stand.

Impact

The game proved a big success with the team onsite and got great feedback from Health Care Professionals at the conference. The game will be used at all future events and we are also exploring building a more portable version of the game.
